Details

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at 9 am in your hotel and head to Dong Nai for National Park. After crossing the Dong Nai River to reach the park gate, you will step into the wilderness.   You will have lunch at a restaurant in the park, check in, and rest. Your accommodation is a standard room in the park. Staying there is convenient for you to join various activities and more; it’s a way to contribute to the park's conservation efforts. Then, you will take a walk to the rainforest through the shaded paths. Along the way, you will have an opportunity to observe various species of insects, birds, and other animals, and don’t forget to bring a binocular if you have one! You will have rest time at the impressive ancient Tung tree before looping back to the park center. Option: Night Safari Experience* Nam Cat Tien Night Safari Experience After dinner, a special experience awaits you: “night safari” to observe the nightlife of animals in the park. You will board an open-top truck and join a park ranger who will use a torch to help you see nocturnal inhabitants as they forage, including sambar deer, wild pigs, porcupines, gaur, weasels, civet cats, barking deer, mongoose, and nightjars. This rare opportunity allows you to witness wildlife up close! Though the car runs slowly and the tour guide is very knowledgeable about nature, sightings are not guaranteed, as nature can be unpredictable.  *Should you wish to partake in this exceptional tour, kindly inquire for further details.
You will welcome early morning in the fresh air within the park. Then, you will have breakfast at the restaurant and get ready for an intensive journey in the heart of the national park! Option: Gibbon watching (2 hours) A truly unique experience is only available at Nam Cat Tien: at dawn, you will follow park rangers deep into the forest to look for and observe primates such as porcupines, black kites, black-shanked douc langurs, and peanuts (yellow-cheeked gibbons) as they forage in the morning. The peanut is a rare species found only in Nam Cat Tien. They live in a family of 3 to 5 members, parents, and offspring, in the high canopies of trees about 30 meters tall. They forage in the early morning while swinging from branch to branch and calling each other. Following the guide, you will venture deep into the forest, keep an eye on the treetops for signs of their movement, and listen for their calls amidst the ancient trees. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone! This activity is limited to 4 travelers each morning to minimize disruption to the wildlife's natural habitat. It’s noted that there is no guarantee of spotting these lovely families (as this is a national park, not a zoo). Note:
  • The minimum age for those taking part in this tour is ten years old.
  • The park does not guarantee that you can see gibbons.
You will ride a bike (14 km)* along the main route of the national park to reach the gate of Bau Sau, one of the world's important Ramsar. From the trailhead, you will continue on foot for another 5 km to reach Crocodile Lake. This wild home to 600 Siamese crocodiles is also a habitat for aquatic plants and mammals like gaur, deer, wild pigs, sambar deer, and bird species. The stunning natural scenery here is a truly well-deserved reward for your journey. *If you prefer not to cycle, the guide will arrange a car for you with a surcharge. After lunch, prepared by the park rangers, you can relax in the observation hut, read a book, and watch the crocodiles in the lake for as long as you wish. Another choice for you is to take a boat ride on the lake to get a closer look at this magnificent habitat of wild inhabitants.* *A ranger will accompany you (with a surcharge). You will walk to the park in the mid-afternoon under the shaded canopy, through the ancient rainforest with towering trees, winding vines and bamboo, moss, mushrooms, and perhaps some wildlife if you move quietly and are lucky. Then, you will enjoy dinner and rest after an active day.
Nam Cat Tien spans three provinces Dong Nai, Lam Dong, and Binh Phuoc, between the Central Highlands and Southeast Vietnam. It is also home to three ethnic groups: Chau Ma, S’tieng, and Tay. This journey will take you through forest trails, vast grasslands, and villages to reach Ta Lai. The guide will connect you with the Chau Ma and S’tieng communities and together take a deep insight into their culture with distinctive features such as Nhà Dài or brocade weaving, despite being influenced by modern lifestyle. You also have a chance to explore the Ta Lai field, an expansive rice field interspersed with hundreds of oil trees, creating a unique landscape.

Then, you will have lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. The journey is expected to conclude at 5 p.m., which is the end of services. Note: Instead of returning to Saigon, you can merge this tour with a beach extension in Lagi or Hoa Thang, on the outskirts of Mui Ne, to bask in the beauty of the beach at your own leisure.
