Vietnam rice terraces
Deep step into golden harvesting season
The Artful Combination of Nature & Humans
Rice Terraces
Rice terrace is a unique form of cultivation in the mountainous regions of Northern Vietnam. In these steep areas, where arable land is scarce, local people have chosen moderately sloped hills and take water from the higher mountains to create terraced fields. Over hundreds of years, through the diligent labor and creativity of farmers, terraced fields have become cascading layers stretching endlessly along the mountains.
When is the best time to see rice terraces?
Harvesting season: Iconic beauty with bountiful & golden rice fields
Water pouring season: Giant mirrors reflecting tapestry of nature colors
Fellow season: Resting brown fields to ready for the next planting season
