This retreat receives professional assistance from the Sivananda Yoga Hanoi, an official Sivananda Yoga Vedanta branch. In Vietnam, its headquarters is the Sivananda Yoga Resort and Training Center in Da Lat. The three other official centers are in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, and Hanoi.

The center’s mission is to spread a positive and healthy lifestyle based on the five points of yoga, passed down through the lineage of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda, which are:

Meals: Lunch, dinner | Accommodation: Traditional house-on-stilts Depart from the DCT Responsible Travel office located at 17 Cau Go at 6:30 AM, and we will take you on a scenic journey towards Thanh Son, Phu Tho. After 2.5 hours, you will have a break at the tea plantation of Thanh Son, where you can stretch your body and walk around the beautiful plantation. Upon arrival in Khau Pha at 12:30 PM, you will be greeted by a hospitable Black Thai family who will be your host during this trip. Enjoy a delicious lunch and relax at the homestay.

In the afternoon, you will attend a 60-minute Nidra yoga class. This experience will help you release tension or stress and relax your body, bringing you harmony and a profound sense of peace. The one-hour Nidra yoga class usually allows people to recharge their energy equal to three hours of sleep. After the Nidra yoga class, take some me-time and enjoy walking around the village, meeting the locals, and playing with children by the stream.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 followed by a group activity where everyone will get to know each other better through a circle connection. Our experienced Yoga health educator and retreat leader will moderate this activity, introducing you to how to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle following classical Yoga, the benefits of yoga practice, and the wellness retreat. Share your concerns and questions, and we will guide you towards a healthier, happier life. Light out at 10:00 PM.

Rising early in the morning is the best way to awaken your body and mind, and soak up the positive energy from the sun in the fresh air of the valley. Today will be the most active day of the entire trip, which means you can fully immerse yourself in the peaceful way of life of the locals.

Vietnam wellness retreat by DCT Responsible Travel Morning Yoga session - Mu Cang Chai Wellness Retreat

Once breakfast is finished at the homestay, it's time to explore this incredible land and connect with nature by embarking on a half-day trekking tour to the Huoi Tieng Qoai bamboo forest. With the help of a Thai ethnic guide, you'll journey through hidden villages, following pathways that lead to the forest. Along the way, there will be many incredible viewpoints that provide splendid views of the whole valley covered by rice terraces. Today's lunch will be provided as a picnic by the stream or at a local family living in the deep mountains. During the afternoon, you'll continue to walk down to the valley and stop over at a H'mong family. Your mind will relax again when you concentrate entirely on the H'mong batik experience. After that, this family will assist you in dyeing your drawing in indigo, which you can take back home as a gift for your friends and family.

After dinner, soak your feet in hot herbal water to help them relax after a long day of walking. Light out at 10:00 PM.

Remember, you may face some situations where a mineral hot spring is not recommended, such as severe heart, liver, or kidney failure, hypertension, epilepsy, mental disorders, fever, acute infections, joint diseases, active tuberculosis, recent strokes, wounds, ulcers, or a decrease in temperature sensation.  After a healthy breakfast, attend the inspiring yoga workshop, "Peace of Mind: Solutions for All Relationships." Listen to your Yoga Health Educator's insights on the power of peace of mind and how it can help you conquer the challenges you face in all your relationships.
