Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at 8:00 AM and transfer you to Saigon Pier. The speedboat departs along the branches of the Mekong River - a chance to see the city and its outskirts from a whole new perspective. Meanwhile, a light breakfast of pastries or bánh mì, tropical fruit, and iced Vietnamese coffee will be served on board. A rather delightful way to start the morning. After about an hour, the boat makes a stop at a bustling riverside market at its liveliest time of day, sitting right at the gateway between Saigon and the vast Mekong Delta. You'll then continue deeper into the biosphere reserve, exploring the area by rowing boat and on foot through the mangrove forest. Arriving at Thiềng Liềng Island late morning, you'll begin a leisurely walk around the island, meeting local families, visiting the salt fields, and learning about the traditional art of salt-making. Take a break to enjoy tea, traditional snacks, and a live performance by the island's one and only musician. Lunch is served at a local home. Afterwards, continue discovering the rhythms of everyday island life. Wind down with a relaxing herbal salt foot soak. At 3:00 PM, bid farewell to the warm-hearted locals and set off back to Saigon. You'll arrive at central Saigon Pier at 4:15 PM, where a car will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
