DAY 1: Hanoi - Cuc Phuong - Van Long
Meal: Lunch | Accommodation: Toki Van Long Retreat8:00 AM - Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Ninh Binh Bear Sanctuary, established by FOUR PAW. This center is not only a new home to bears rescued from bile farming and the illegal wildlife trade in Vietnam but an unforgettable experience for learning and exploring in a natural setting.
Ninh Binh Bear Sanctuary
Lunch at the sanctuary, then transfer to Cuc Phuong, the oldest National Park in Vietnam. Stop and visit the renowned Endangered Primate Rescue Centre to see some of the rarest apes and monkeys in the world and learn about the conservation efforts to save them. You will continue the visit by quickly transferring to the park center with a stop en route at the Cave of Prehistoric Man. Then, you’ll wander through a subtropical forest rich in flora and fauna with thousand-year-old trees draped in vines. Around 16:30, we will leave Cuc Phuong for Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve.

DAY 2: Van Long – Hoa Lu – Hanoi
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch | Accommodation: Not includedAfter breakfast, we collect our bicycles for a ride around the Van Long area, with several stops to take a close look at local daily life and people working in the rice fields.

Then, let’s head to a small pier nearby and embark on a traditional hand-rowed sampan. We venture for about one hour following the less frequent roads within the Van Long nature reserve. Although the ride is shorter than the one that is much more popular in Trang An, this rowing sampan ride will take you into the countryside, far from tourist groups.

Late lunch will be served at a local restaurant. We will then leave Van Long for Hoa Lu - the former imperial capital, to better understand Vietnam's history before returning to Hanoi. Estimated arrival is approximately 4 p.m.
