Who will accompany you?

Sivananda Yoga Hanoi 

This retreat receives professional assistance from the Sivananda Yoga Hanoi, an official Sivananda Yoga Vedanta branch. In Vietnam, its headquarters is the Sivananda Yoga Resort and Training Center in Da Lat. The three other official centers are in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, and Hanoi.

The center’s mission is to spread a positive and healthy lifestyle based on the five points of yoga, passed down through the lineage of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda, which are: 

  • Proper Exercise – Asanas.
  • Proper Breathing – Pranayama.
  • Proper Relaxation – Savasana.
  • Proper Diet – Vegetarian.
  • Positive Thinking and Meditation – Vedanta and Dhyana.

Meals: Lunch and dinner | Accommodation: La Maison Sapa, shared room Are you ready for an exciting adventure to Sapa? We'd love to have you join us on this journey! We'll start our day at 6 AM from the DCT Responsible Travel office at 17 Cau Go Street and take the beautiful Hanoi - Lao Cai highway. After a picturesque four-hour ride, we'll take a break for lunch at a local restaurant in Lao Chai. Once we arrive in Sapa at 1 PM, we'll give you some time to check in and rest. Later in the afternoon, we'll have our first activity to get to know each other and make new friends. You'll meet your companions, including a Yoga health educator and retreat leader who will share how classical yoga can benefit your physical and mental health.

Afterwards, we'll take a walk through the village to La Dao spa, where you'll be treated to herb baths made by the Red Dzao people. These baths will rejuvenate your energy and help you relax after a long journey. In the evening, we'll sit down for a delicious vegetarian dinner with locally-sourced ingredients at the homestay. And before we head to bed, our yoga health educator will guide you through a meditation session to help you sleep peacefully. Light out at 10 PM.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Accommodation: La Maison Sapa We will begin the next day with a yoga class and guided meditation at 5 AM. Early morning is the perfect time to awaken your body and mind and receive positive energy from the sun in the fresh air of the valley. This is the day with the most activities of this trip, which will give you the chance to experience the peaceful life of the local people.

After the 1-hour asana session, we will have breakfast at the homestay. Then, we will participate in a yoga workshop led by the Yoga Health Educator on "How to use your senses to rejuvenate and recharge your prana".

In the afternoon, we will meet Ms. May, a local guide with over 15 years of experience guiding international travellers in Sapa. With May, you will explore trekking routes, passing through small villages and admiring the lush greenery of Ta Van Valley. You will also have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Lieng, a Red Dzao woman. The locals often visit her house for herbal baths to treat illnesses. You can talk to her to learn more about the indigenous healthcare practices of the Red Dzao people in Sapa. Dinner at homestay and light out at 10 PM.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch | Accommodation: Not included The morning yoga class on the second day of our trip will be a bit longer than the previous day, lasting for 1.5 hours. It will be led by our yoga health educator who will guide us in proper breathing techniques and correct common mistakes in postures.

After breakfast, we will participate in a unique workshop hosted by Giay artisans. The workshop will involve making incense buds from 12 types of wood, agarwood, and herbs. This activity is part of a project to preserve the cultural identity of the H'mong and Giay ethnic groups in Ta Van. The incense buds have a refreshing fragrance that can help to calm and relax your mind. You can also make your own set of incense buds during the workshop and take it home as a present for your loved ones.

After lunch, we will head back to Hanoi, and the trip is expected to finish by 6 PM.
