This retreat receives professional assistance from the Sivananda Yoga Hanoi, an official Sivananda Yoga Vedanta branch. In Vietnam, its headquarters is the Sivananda Yoga Resort and Training Center in Da Lat. The three other official centers are in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, and Hanoi.

The center’s mission is to spread a positive and healthy lifestyle based on the five points of yoga, passed down through the lineage of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda, which are: 

  • Proper Exercise – Asanas.
  • Proper Breathing – Pranayama.
  • Proper Relaxation – Savasana.

Details

Meals: Lunch, dinner | Accommodation: Traditional house-on-stilts in Na Phon village Departure from the DCT Responsible Travel office at 17 Cau Go at 7:00 AM, heading to Mai Chau, Hoa Binh. After 2.5 hours, you will take a break at the Da Trang Pass, which has spectacular views of the Mai Chau valley. Right after arriving in Mai Chau at 11:00 AM, you will be warmly welcomed by gracious White Thai people - Tân and her family, who will be the first hosts of our retreat. Have a vegan lunch, then have a rest at the homestay. The afternoon is the time for the group to get to know each other better through circle connection with the moderation of the Yoga Educator from Sivananda Yoga and the retreat leader. Don’t hesitate to share your concerns and questions if you have any.

After that is your me-time when you can also enjoy cycling around the peaceful village with the gentle scent of the rice fields in the harvest season.

Dinner at your homestay. Light out at 10:00 PM after a guided deep relaxation session.
Meals: Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner| Accommodation: Lua Pu Luong The next day starts with a morning Yoga class at 6:30 AM by the Tat Nang waterfall. Early morning is an ideal time for you to wake up your body and mind and absorb energetic sunlight in the fresh air of the valley.

After a 1-hour asana among majestic nature, we will transfer to Phu Mau mineral hot springs to unwind your body beneath the natural hot water flowing from the mountainside. After lunch, we will leave Mai Chau for the Pu Luong Nature Reserve, which has a scenic roadside view of lush forests. After a 1-hour drive, we will arrive at Lua Pu Luong Ecolodge in Leo Village. This is a peaceful retreat outside the prime attraction of Pu Luong (Don village) with stunning views of terraced fields. The bungalows at Lua Pu Luong are designed in a rustic style, maximising the use of natural materials to bring you a serene atmosphere. Upon check-in, it is leisurely time for you to explore Leo village or soak in herbal baths (please note that the herbal bath fee is to be paid directly to the retreat). The talented chef at Lua Pu Luong will prepare a vegetarian dinner. Light out at 10 PM.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch | Accommodation: Not included. You will join an early morning yoga class at 5:30 AM while welcoming sunrise in the valley. Lua is an unmissable destination for morning yoga practice with a spectacular view of rice terraces thanks to the meticulous design of the owner, a yogi.

After breakfast, we will attend a yoga workshop themed “Ayurvedic self-oil massage”. This massage technique is based on Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of life, and concentrates on acupressure points. It enhances body awareness, induces deep relaxation, boosts vitality, rejuvenates the skin, and promotes healing. You can easily apply these techniques at home for yourself and your loved ones.

After lunch, farewell to your host and Pu Luong to return to Hanoi. The trip is expected to finish at 6 PM.  *Ayur is “Life”, Veda is “Science”. Ayurveda is a classical medicine derived from India over 5000 years ago. It is the oldest healing system in the world. Nowadays, Ayurvedic has evolved into a fully developed branch of medicine with both theory and practical applications recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO). The mission of Ayurveda is to help people live a long, balanced, and healthy life without any suffering, drugs or complex surgeries, bringing us closer to nature.
